Dr. Tobgy Profile

Principal of CMC, Official representative of the ABRSM.

In 1973, he aquired his musical degree in Egypt after which degree he furthered his studied at the ABRSM, where he reached the level at his studies and obtained his fellowship in teaching the Guitar.

In 1974, he was accredited as a musical arranger in the musical broadcasting.
He participated as a guitarist with el Masiyya orchestra under the baton of Ahmed Fouad Hassan. He also played Guitar with many famous singer Abdel Halim Hafiz, Warda, Fayza Ahmed, Nagat, Shadya, Hany Shaker, and Samir El-Iskadarany.
He formed and handed many western bands.

In 1976, he was named Egypt first Guitar player having reached the highest under the instruction of Dia Montopolis, who in turn was the student of the king of guitar “Andrea Segovia” .

Thus specializing in guitar he introduced the academic teaching of his beloved instrument to CMC and even wrote the book "The Modern Techniques of Guitar Teaching".

Some of his pupils have become famous Guitar players, like: Christine Honeywell in England, Hiroshi kawanshi in Japan, Pertego George in France, Anakrima Osano in Venzuela, Anwar Kelendar in Kuwait, Samir Habib in Egypt.

Moving from a success to a success, a few years agohe was a conductor at the AUC where he has founded the University Orchestra which won first place among all Egyptian Universities.

Currently, Dr. El Tobgy is on of the jury men in the audition which takes place on the Nile Variety show every Sunday. Dr. Tobgy joined this program for his belief that many talents have to be well presented and have to take the chance to be stars.
